Not my cars, although the red Prairie really speaks to me. These pics were provided by my collector brother from another mother Jarrod in Australia(his collection).
Yes, this red Prairie.... Very nice. Me & Jarrod's always talking about how we want to see Jessie's red Toyota Tercel(from hit show "Breaking Bad"), but this may be as close as we'll ever get. Greenlight seems to have rights to produce models of the cars from the TV series, but they tend to be allergic to Japanese cars. *tear*

Thanks Jarrod for letting me use these great pictures!
Just face it, you want the Elgrand, badly! J/k :p
ReplyDeleteAnd dude, I didn't think you were going to do a whole entry with these pics. I'm honoured. :)
Wow, I've been looking at the red Prairie with interest for quite some time now. Boring, quaint, wagon-ish..just my type of car! Although having looked at these photos, have to admit the silver-blue Prairie doesn't look bad as well. Will definitely get either one of them soon. How are the wheels...do they look ok...i.e scale? Or too 'thin'/narrow like on some of the vans?
ReplyDeleteIn terms of scale, they look fine to me. And thankfully, they are wider than the one used on the Town Ace and Delta vans. I never realised before how thin those wheels were, until you mentioned it. lol
DeleteThose skinny rims throws me off, when I do notice it. lol
DeleteThey don't really bother me much though. I mainly care about the detail, and if they look realistic from the side. That's just me. :)
Thanks for the clarification on the wheel, Jarrod.
DeleteIt turns me off as well. So much so that I would hesitate to buy any TLV models with those skinny wheels. Because I prefer my cars to look realistic from the front/back as well. But that's just me.
Greenlight has a lot of those skinny wheels going on. Partly the reason why I shun them.
Shame that the Tercel hasn't been chosen by Greenlight as part of their Breaking Bad line, but at least you can have that atrocious-looking Pontiac Aztek, so who cares? (laughs)
ReplyDeleteI kid, I kid. But who knows, while Jesse's Tercel won't be made by Tomica due to licensing issues, they can make a stock version of it... It is TLV that we are talking about, after all. Oh, and very nice Praries, Jarrod did well in buying them. Simple and square, but somewhat charismatic, thanks to a two-tone paint job and wood stripe between the tail lights. It's a nifty release.
They got that 80's goodness some of us crave, that's for sure. If TLV actually got around to making the red Tercel wagon(4WD), I would do a happy dance.
DeleteIndeed they do; Super Silhouettes (the ultimate 1980's glory within TLV), Seibu Keisatsu Nissans (wonderful custom police Skylines) and then all the other cars (Bluebird SSSes, and even foreign metal such as VWs and BMWs). I'm sure that someone who works for Tomica will give a Tercel some love one day, it's not like such a car doesn't suit the brand's image... Especially after the Prairie duo's release.
DeleteMaybe someday, but there is so much area to cover! lol
DeleteWell maybe you can send a email in Japanese to Tomica to let then know that we are interested in a TLV Tercel, haha. Onegai?
DeleteI would, but Jarrod is our official hound dog when we want to have our wishlist known to the manufacturers like Tomica & Greenlight. Okay, I've done it in the past, too. We joke to each other how we may get banned for our actions. lol
