He's definitely into the latest Hot Wheels, but also tweets lot of neat vintage finds from Japan.  This time, it's from the latest Grachan Collection set(Part 10).  He mentions how his wheelswap ended up making the car look like Japanese Batmobile & I couldn't agree more.  It's awesome!  XD

Aoshima Grachan Collection "Best" - Hakosuka 2DR(Nissan Skyline GT-R)

This needs to be said.  I bought a case of this thing?  Twelve cars in all, for roughly $70(shipped).  That's less than $6 a car.  Shipped.  OMG.

This is my second 12-car case of Grachan Collection.  Use the search box on the top-left corner, or click on "aoshima" link on the right to see other cars from these sets.

As for the car, what can you say?  Yes, it's Bōsōzoku rice(Google if needed lol), so it's not for everybody..... but as ridiculous as it looks, it's hawt.

Aoshima Grachan Collection "Best" - Mazda Savanna RX-3

So glad they brought this one back.  As you many know, Hot Wheels recently debuted their RX-3 castings in the "Japan Historics" series.  That was pretty sweet, but this car is very rare in 1/64.  I had only heard about the Aoshima "Grachan" RX-3 before, and I didn't even know what their version even looked like.  Well.  Now that I've seen it, I quite like it.  :)

Hot Wheels Japan Historics RX-3 was really neat, but I gotta say, this is my new favorite RX-3!

I love old Celicas.  I was excited to finally take a peek at this old school Celica casting from the Aoshima Grachan Collection.  Front end is just money.  Classic.

Not a fan of the fastback, but it looks alright.

Aoshima Grachan Collection "Best" - 1971 240ZG

Grachan "BEST"?  My case of Grachan Collection arrived today.  If you are wondering what the heck Grachan is, I provided some information in this post.   

Anywho, I was looking on the box to see which series this case was & instead of series number, it just said "BEST".  Naturally, it's off to Google.

According to the Aoshima page, here, I'll just translate it:

"今回のグラチャンコレクションは一味違う！近年では特に入手困難となっている3～5弾の選りすぐり車種がBEST版として復活。最近グラチャンコレクションにハマり出した方はこのチャンスをお見逃し無く！"

"This Grachan Collection is of a different flavor! Carefully seleced vehicle types from Series 3~5 that's become hard to find in recent years has resurrected as the BEST Version.  Those of you who got hooked on Grachan Collection just recently, do not miss this chance!"

No, I'm not a professional translator, but you get the idea.  Apparently, Aoshima has decided to bring back some of the very popular castings from the past.  I for one, very glad.   I've been getting interested in Mazda RX-3's & so are many other JDM fans.  Today, I just opened one out of the case for little quickie.  I hope you enjoy the pics:

Aoshima Grachan Collection Series 9: LB Works Kenmeri 2DR(C110) / グラチャン コレクション LBワークスケンメリ

When I picture vintage bosozoku in my head, this here is one of the styles that pops up in my mind.  I don't ever recall seeing one in real life, except in the related manga comic books.  For those of you who do not recognize the pair, they are modified Nissan Skylines.  1972.

 

Gotta love the lowriders.
