This is the Part II. Part I of this post featured the white "tractor head" LV-N90a, due to the supposed shipping damage that took original truck's bumper off.
Well, with the settlement reached(about $107 refunded to me), I was finally able to repair the bumper & feature the original green tractor truck..... but that's not all! When this transporter first became available on preorder, most of us witnessed stock photo, much like this one:
The trailer was loaded with five beige Toyota Carinas, and while it was noted in Japanese that those cars were not included with the transporter, overseas, we did have collectors asking around if those cars actually came in a set. When I got my hands on this transporter, I remembered this & being the bit twisted person I am, I thought that yes, it should be a set. I had little help from Japan Booster eBay store, who came through perfectly like always. I had my 'complete set' in no time. :D
Other Carinas trying to join the party. lol
Side-by-side: LV-N89a(green) & LV-N90a(white)
Finally, a bonus round. Earlier in this post, I brought up the Tomytec stock photos featuring five beige Toyota Carinas. Here's me being weird:
Don't recall those scenes? Here are the side-by-side:
I crack myself up. I really do.
You work for Tomica's marketing division, it all makes sense now! Constantly prasising their products, mimicking their photo advertisements, there are way too many "coincidences" to not make sense... (laughs)
ReplyDeleteBut yes, that's quite the story. I don't know who should I commend the most; you for going the whole ten yards and replicating the setup Tomica used to promote the trucks, or Japan Booster for actually giving you all the Carinas used for it. It's as if Japan Booster was Nissan and you were Seibu Keisatsu, haha!
No no no, no freebies. lol As always though, with the purchase of $50 or more, they do give us free shipping. Unbelievable deal. :)
DeleteHope you enjoyed the pics!
Haha, fair enough. Still, not having to pay addtional shipping costs for all those Carinas is a very nifty bonus, no? It hurts less on the wallet... ;)
DeleteI did, it provided a great background for a very interesting story. Trucks are not something I love beyond mortal belief, but TLV does make some very nice truck castings for their size.
Between Japan Booster and AmiAmi, you will do pretty good on TLVs. I highly recommend them.
DeleteI'm a fan of many things, but I do especially appreciate trucks & other utility vehicles of accurate 1/64 scale. They are so much fun!
Of course, it is hard to forget those two names; AmiAmi, who specializes in the latest TLV castings (as well as a few older ones), and Japan Booster, who is the go-to place for all discontinued and current TLV cars alike... They are great places to start for a TLV noob such as myself, haha.
DeleteHmm, I see, fair enough. No wonder the current highlighted picture in your blog is the Breaking Bad RV, it shows your preference for those kinds of vehicles. Me, I'm content with 1/64 Alfa Romeo 4Cs and the like, haha.
Yup, well spotted on the GL Breaking Bad camper. Dead giveaway. lol
DeleteAlfa is one of my favorite European cars, so I did enjoy your post on GTPlanet. Also, it wasn't all TLV Toyota Carinas in that package from Japan Booster. It also included three Italians(by Kyosho), and I do hope to get those posted on the blog in next few days! :)
Of course, which is why your next big target will be Greenlight's future Breaking Bad release of the infamous Pontiac Aztek, right? Horrible design, but just the fact that it's tied to such a famous television series will make it "desirable", of all possible things, haha!
DeleteGlad to hear that you noticed, I love the 4C so much I own two of them... in scale form, that is. Still, with one being Siku's very nice 1/64 casting and the other being BBR Top Marques's work of pure 1/18 art, it's worth all the money and smiles. Also, three Italians, eh? Are they all Alfas, I wonder...?
All Ferraris. I posted the second one tonight.
DeleteMy only Alfa so far in 2016 will come from amiami(TLV). It's actually already there, ready to ship, but it's being delayed by incoming Enif Toyota Crown preorder. :(
Ah yes, should've known already. After all, supercars are Kyosho's Italian speciality... And they know how to make them.
DeleteSo it's a GT Junior, correct? I've seen photos of it, it is a very nice casting. I wasn't aware that you are delaying its delivery due to Enif's hotshot release of the Crown, however... Don't blame you, however, that car has quite the potential.
It's actually this:

Excuse me, I have to grab something to wipe the drool with.
Ah yes, I did eventually find out that it was the 1750, the GT Junior has already been released. And yes, it's a very pretty thing, especially in Alfa's one and only fiery red...
DeleteThe Silvia SS may have caught all the attention, but the Alfa shouldn't really be ignored.
Alfa Romeo + Red = :-D
ReplyDeleteQuite, but you forgot to add the inevitable drool which will also show up when you see one, haha.
DeleteYou are quite right my friend. Probably streaming tears to go with the drool, too. lol
Delete"Tears of hapiness", you mean. (laughs)
DeleteYou know it!
