I believe this car shared platform with the MkIII Supra?  As a kid, I had crush on both.  This super 80's cool Choro-Q can be had from amiami for mere $7 + shipping.  It's on backorder status, so I don't expect it to be available for long.

  1. Wow, they even got the beautiful lion-shaped Soarer on the "license plate", now that is attention to detail. Cool touch.

    But yes, you are not wrong; the first Soarer shared its platform with the Mark 3 Supra, and thank God for that, because it suited the Soarer like a glove. Elegant proportions, that luxury... It's a lovely car, moreso than the disgraceful SC430 that would eventually succed it. Also, I now know that there was something known as the Soarer AeroCabin in the Japanese market, and I love it. Make a scale model out of that one and you will have my money, Tomica!

  2. Zero-line of Choro-Q is similar to what TLV is to rest of Tomicas, so more parts, more detailing.... Also tons more money. lol

    On the Soarer, I really liked this gen, also the one that replaced it. SC430, that was something else. *yuck*

    1. Well, it seems that even the cutest cars get Tomy's "seal of pricetag"... Kawaii comes with a price, haha.

      Indeed, the first three Soarer generations were fine GT cars. Luxury Supras with great equipment and tuning potential to boot. Once Lexus came in, all the SC had to its favor was a very sucessful SuperGT career. The only car to beat a 1st-gen Peugeot 308 in Top Gear's "Worst Car in History" film, too!

    3. In TG's eyes, it certainly was. Amongst other things, they despised the design, its excessive pricetag but most importantly, how cheap and poor quality the interior materials felt. It's funny, though; TG hates Peugeot so much that they dedicated almost an entire TV segment to the brand, using nothing but outdated and tiresome British sterotypes about the brand, ignoring the existence of the 106 and the 206 as well as the 307 (two of the company's best-selling cars and an European Car of the Year award winner in the 307) and joking that the company would end up building cars. A true cringe-worthy moment in TG history, and definitely not for the right reasons... And yet, despite naming the SC as the worst car in history, Jeremy Clarkson would up loving the LFA even after mocking its pricetag compared to the Nissan GT-R and how the car was not that faster than it. British hosts! Or maybe just another day in the wacky mind of Jeremy "Punchy" Clarkson...

    4. Glad to hear that LFA didn't get slammed(Lexus fanboy), but man, I didn't realize that it was slower than the GT-R while costing more money. Not a huge fan of the GT-R, but where credit is due, it is a impressive car.

    5. Actually, the LFA is slightly faster, maybe I didn't word my thinking correctly. What TG meant was the LFA's price was too high for its actual performance, which was only slightly better than the GT-R's mainly due to power and weight. In short, for TG, the Lexus was too expensive for what it could do... I'd still have a LFA over the GT-R, simply because it's the more charismatic car of the two. That Yamaha-developed V10, the looks... It is indeed an old-school supercar, and a good one at that. Shame that Lexus has yet to develop a proper sucessor for it...

    6. Ah, my bad. I misread it. I totally agree on the car. I'd take LF-A, too. Not the biggest fan of either designs though.
