Here is the #2 post in the "Desert Island" series. Very first post featured Jarrod's collection from Australia & going from one extreme to another, this time we feature the desert island top ten from my favorite Canuck Andy, aka AOS:
Andy Truong from Canada
10) HW Lambo Reventon Roadster 2010 New Models
One of my first HWs, also happens to be a favourite influenced from a video game.
Whatever you can't find immediately makes it all the more attractive. This one took a lot of patience and the luck of having a friend who helped find this.
8) HW '55 Corvette
This cute little thing also opened me up to classic cars. Ironically, I only like a HW of this; no 1:1 version.
7) HW '63 T-Bird 1999 AMES Roadster
After the '55 Corvette, it was now this that opened me up to wire-spoke wheels. I don't even remember how I got so into the T-Birds. The First Editions isn't even that good looking. But anyway, I liked it so much I put it in the "collect everything" category. Like the Corvette, I seem to like the HW over the actual thing.
6) HW Porsche 934 RSR 2014 Mainline
Broke the ice for 934s and later 964s. I still dislike 996s. :p
5) MBX Toyota Land Cruiser Lesney Edition
One of the few grails of MBX. The hunt was long and the battle was vicious.
4) CM's Subaru Impreza 1999 WRC Monte Carlo
When the item is more scarce (be it low production or almost all finding permanent homes), the hunt to locate one becomes a great driving force to the attachment to this hobby.
3) HW Porsche 911 GT2 2010 Speed Machines
Scarcity alone and the fact it took so many years to learn of its existence and to come across it by chance on some random European website.
2) MBX Land Rover Defender 110S
The hunt for Land Rovers, Land Cruisers, SL55s and E-Type really kept me busy over the previous 2 years. This is one of the biggest most badass additions I brought into the collection. Again, a big factor is the thrill of the hunt and winning that auction.
1) Kyosho McLaren F1 GTR Launch Karuwaza
Scarce. Had no clue it existed. Didn't even realize it only came in a box-set with fixed set of Mclarens, and only if you were lucky that one of them would be swapped out in place of this. Also, this one >>> hot wheels.
Minicar Pics 1/64: Leave it to Andy. From Japanese to European, dollar car to rare limited release costing in $$$. Really digging that Kyosho Lambo at #9 personally, but that Matchbox Land Cruiser's pretty sweet. I don't even want to know how much it's worth though. lol
Make sure to check out other cars he has on his blog Epic Collage.... Just remember, bring change of pants before you click on his "1/18" collection. His JDM stuff by Ignition is unbelievable. *wipes drool*

Killer list Andy. Speed Machines GT2 is perfecto. :)
