Oversteer w/Interallied Mazda Atenza Sedan

oversteer mazda atenza

Ridiculous.  Crazy.  *$#@!.  When I first checked out this model, I said:  "What the...."  I was surprised, and it is that good.  I consider myself a big TLV fan.  While I consider their ability to consistently produce the level of quality they do, at the volume they do is unbeatable, if you asked me to give you one TLV car off the top of my head that is more impressive than this Mazda Atenza, I couldn't.  Okay, maybe because I'm old & forgetful, but seriously, this product Oversteer(w/Interallied) put together is amazing.  They deserve a standing ovation from the collector community in my opinion.  Go buy it.  Right now.  Pics:

Early 2015, I had Oversteer Nissan GT-R on preorder.  They were delayed by many months, I eventually asked amiami to cancel the preorder(don't do this, I was warned of account cancellation).  When the GT-Rs were finally released, I was like, meh.  I have one of their Miatas.  I mean they are good, but nothing like this Mazda 6(American name, I had to throw this in here lol).  I just ordered the GT-R, too.  While it couldn't possibly be as good as this Mazda, after seeing their work with this car, I had to check out the GT-R with my own eyes.  I'm gushing, I know, but seriously, pick one up if you can!

  1. Oh my goodness, this looks way better than Oversteer's Miata.

  2. Damn straight, Andy. I'm now sort of bummed about the upcoming release of Enif Toyota Crown, because there is no way their Crown is going to be this good.....

  3. This is one hell of a Mazda model, and one which should put Oversteer on the map for sure. The NC Miata/MX-5 was a nice start, but the Atenza kills it dead. It just does; the wonderfuly dark Soul Red color, the photo-etched badges, that stance...

Oversteer has advanced so much in such a short period it's not even funny, they have really put their experience with bigger models to good practice. I have seen a post from Lamley's blog featuring the GT-R against TLV's own GT-R, and while the Oversteer came up short, he was still very impressed with their detailing and better case/base combo. Needless to say, Oversteer hasn't gotten Tomica beat just yet, but they clearly matched their level of quality, in their own way...

    1. I missed this Lamley post. Thanks for bringing it up. I will be checking it out!

    2. Actually, I made a grave mistake; it's not Lamley, it's 829 Japan's blog that made the comparo between the two. Sorry for the dumb mistake, so have the proper link as a gift: http://829japan.com/2015/12/03/164-nissan-gt-r-oversteer-versus-tomytec/

    3. That was great. Thank you for the link! :)

    4. You're welcome. ;) So, what are your thoughts on the matter?

    5. Not sure. I'm gonna have to eyeball both cars myself when the Oversteer version arrives. ;)

    6. Ok, fair enough. I'll be looking forward to seeing your own comparison, whenever that happens... ;)

    7. Probably early February. Monthly order that I have the GT-R from AmiAmi won't ship until close to the end of the month.

    8. Welp, there go the double posts again, your phone is acting up...

But yes, it will be worth the wait for sure. Your micro photographs should uncover most of both cars' secrets in their quality feel.

    9. Haha, thanks for the heads up(again). lol

I will do my best on photographing the cars. After seeing & handling the Mazdas, I'm looking forward to the GT-R. :)

    10. That is a really nice model, I'm still waiting on my GTR from AmiAmi. The details on the oversteer models are impressive especially with the etching on the dashboards and center consoles. As far as details go I feel that Minichamps and Oversteer 1/64 lines are among the best for details and TLV for its consistency.

    11. I couldn't agree more. I wish Minichamps made more 1/64 cars. :)

    12. Haha, no problem, glad I could help.

And regarding Minichamps, despite living in Europe, I have yet to see any proper 1/64 car from them. I've seen plenty of 1/43 models, and I own two (very beautiful) models from Minichamps, but no 1/64s. But from what you and JC say about it, it seems that Minichamps puts quite a lot of work into those very same models...

    13. I think I have just two other Minichamps? One is the beautiful 1/18 Honda/Lotus 99T: http://minicarpics.blogspot.com/2015/05/random-pics.html

Second is 1/64 Mario Andretti Indy Car(I think). I'll try to feature that on here in the near future. Nothing fancy though.

    14. Well their 1/18 models are wonderful, even if they may not be up to AUTOart's standards, that is a given. But the new 1/64s are a complete mystery to me, as I have never seen them in person...

The old ones are probably lacking in quality feel because of Minichamps' lack of experience.

    15. Perhaps you are right about the inexperience. I don't know if you've ran into my Minichamps Porsche post, but here it is just in case:

They put some work into that one!

    16. Well, I have seen it, and I must agree with you on that. It feels and looks like a downsized 1/43 casting, and that is not meant to be an insult. The detailing is quite impressive for a company with such a short history in the 1/64 scale model business...

    17. My opinion is similar to that as well. They did a great job!

  4. Hello. I just stumbled over your blog because I'm looking for a 2013 Mazda 6 Sedan model in soul red. I have the rl 1/1 version but the models I've found are pretty expensive. Is there really no affordable Matchbox, HotWheels, etc. available?
I found the one above for $60+pp and even though it's looking cool, that's a bit steep imo (esp. if the kids find it ;)
    Cheers, Endre.

    1. Thanks for commenting. Mazda 6/Atenza indeed are hard to find in 1/64, and this is the best deal I could find:

Not sure how it'll come out with the exchange rates & international shipping. I looked for other makes, but it sure looks like these Oversteer/Allied Atenza are the only 1/64 models out there.

    2. Thanks for your response :)

I'm usually not into car models, well, except I'm glad one of my sons (5yo) is a real car boy so sometimes I can buy him the toys I want to play with like a flying DeLorean from Hot Wheels last month.
Nothing like these models of cours, but nice to play with.
So I have no clue about model cars, so how about that Atenza (in my German dialect it sounds like 'a dancer'). Is 1/64 the size of the usualy HotWheels/Matchbox cars and what would be a slightly bigger size, 1/40 or so? I think I'd like a red Atenza a bit bigger, so I could enjoy the details (maybe I'd get the small one anyways).
Usually I'm more into making stuff, like knives, embossed leather and whatnot. Always need a new project, just collecting is not my turf. But one car model is not collecting, if you don't count that DeLorean, right? ;)

    3. 1/43 would be the next scale up for most collectors. If you look on eBay, there should be similar model Atenza/6 by a brand called Hi-Story in that scale. If you don't find one for reasonable price, I would just keep checking.

You can also contact Japan Booster(eBay Seller): https://www.ebay.com/usr/japan-booster?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

I'm not sure if they still can, but Akiyo with Japan Booster at least used to be very hands on finding specific models for customers.

Being able to craft, put together stuff is admirable. I've never had any serious hobby until basketball cards, got bored & got into 1/64 diecast collecting(thanks to my then-toddler nephew). I've since then moved on to firearms, so my other blog's been the more current one(http://youlovegunsandzombies.blogspot.com/).

Anywho, I wish you luck on your search. I haven't driven one, but Mazda 6 really nice, I hear good things, and Mazdas & Hondas I have high regard for as far as handlings go. Very good everyday driving cars. :)

    4. Thanks for the links and the info. Last time I shot a gun was while serving the German Luftwaffe 20y ago. It's fun, but also quite costly here in Switzerland even though it's much more accepted than in Germany.
So yeah, I'll tell you when I've found something, meanwhile I try to figure out how to make a crome emblem. I already found the font and designed it: 'Made in Hiroshima' with the 'O' being a radioactive sign to be put right below the Mazda6 logo.
Just darn expensive to let a pro make it for me :(

    5. Guns are very controversial & highly regulated these days. Even in countries like Switzerland & Austria, they are not completely free from the politics & influence of the EU.

Yes, let me know if you find the model, I'd be interested. Best of luck with the emblem as well. :)
