Tomica Limited Vintage NEO: LV-N48b Honda Civic SiR-II

tomica limited vintage lv-n48b honda civic

Picked this one up from Japan Booster's Black Friday sale for $24.49(blemished box).  Since I was ready to pay $50 for this Civic just month earlier, I was stoked to see this offered on Black Friday at awesome discount + as usual, free shipping.  :)

  1. That Civic must have one heck of a demand to come with a standard price tag of 50 bucks, good grief. It's not even a Super Silouette model, but it's nearly worth the same value...

Good thing that Japan Booster had a Black Friday sale, so that you were able to get that great quality for a good price. Better than spendng 50 bucks at least, haha.

    1. Classic supply and demand. Civic is a very popular casting amongst the TLV lineup.

    2. So it's popularity that gives the Civic such high value, huh... Makes sense, especially when the casting itself is made to such high quality values like TLV's. Regardless of color, the quality remains the same most of the time, which sure helps with maintaining values.

    3. Yes, when they were new, they were under $10. Limited production drive up value/cost on the popular castings though as time passes.

    4. Darn, a price raise from $10 to $50, that's a gain of 40 bucks alone since the Civic's release... It does make sense considering the limited production, like the iDX models, but still, that's crazy.

Also, do you have any intentions of buying the Nissan 2020 VGT model of TLV's NEO line? It would be interesting to see how does it stack up to the rest of the cars in its line...

    5. Skyrocketing secondary market value is typical with collectibles like these. Hence the hot wheels 'hunt'. :D That one dollar car isn't a dollar anymore as soon as you find it!

And yes,I do have red 2020 on order, but my order typically gets delayed, because I add so much stuff on. Jarrod(aka Spacegoat) is expecting his any day now. I'm looking forward to this casting as well. I don't know anything about the car, but damn,it looks good!

    6. You aren't wrong there, rare numbers usually lead to big price tags... Even an HW car can skyrocket in value if you are not paying attention, and many do that in a matter of months. Heck, even days!

Great to hear, looking forward to see your pictures of it. So far, I've only seen it in pictures and in video, but those two were more than enough to let me know that the 2020's casting is simply stunning, especially in colors such as red or purple... The Vision GT project may be controversial, but you cannot deny that it has produced quite the interesting set of cars.

    7. I dig the purple, too. I wish I had the room & funds for another 2020. *drool*

    8. Tell me about it, the purple looks as amazing as I expected it to look. If only I had an easier way to buy TLV cars other than having to use the Internet... sigh.
