1/71 Scale Tomica No. 103 Toyota Land Cruiser(70-Series)

Tomica is not a very popular brand in the U.S.  While that has much to do with non-existent marketing & high price, even the vehicle castings themselves are often more oriented toward Asian markets, especially Japan.  Let's not even get started on the common stigma attached with the "mainline" Tomicas, like those sometimes despised rims.

Still, there are select Tomicas which may appeal to Hot Wheels/diecasts/minicar fans in America.  At least for me, such a Tomica is the 70-Series Land Cruiser.

If you are a fan of import trucks, it is impossible not to like this old school Toyota.  This rugged "work truck" Land Cruiser came out in the mid-80's, and is still being built to this day.  However, apparently, Toyota USA will have nothing to do with it.  Once legendary "Land Cruiser" name now belongs to the quality built, but obscure Range Rover wannabe that nobody owns, at least in the States.
Sorry.  Bit harsh(but all true).  *ahem*  Back to the Tomica.  As you can see, headache rack was not hollowed out, which takes lot away from what is otherwise a very cool little mainline casting.  Even the wheels are pretty decent on this one!
