Beautiful, right? I am pissed. This is why:
See the three sets of parts on plastic rails? If you've never seen them before, they are what plastic model parts looks like. I enjoyed building those models as kids, but sometimes, they can be pretty difficult to assemble. You gotta detach those plastic parts off the rails clean, apply the right amount of glue, don't get any on your hands(or residue will be all over your model), etc., etc.
The nerve of Tomytec to sell a minicar for MSRP of roughly $26, and leave us such a difficult task. When I buy Kyoshos, or RAI'S cars, they don't give us handful of parts & go, "here, you finish it". If they did, I'd ask "with what!?". If they were Tomytec, they'd just tell me to go to the store & buy myself a cutting tool & some glue to finish it.
News flash Tomytec: If this was too difficult for your Chinese assemblers, I can't do it either.
I've complained about these "some assemblies required" scheme on Tomica Limited Vintage models in the past, pretty vocally in this CR-X post. What gets me, this time, they leave it to us, the collectors(not modelers) to put together three sets of parts this time. I hope you believe me when I say that it's not easy. There are no locator pins, or any locators at all for the correct placement of these parts. My "locator" was a Google image search & for the rear spoiler, I had to do it in Japanese language to even find the picture I liked......... and look at this bullshit instruction. *shakes fist*
I want to swear some more, but I've used to up all the curse words during the installation of these parts. Thanks for letting me vent. As you'd probably be able to tell by my rants, installation process did not go smoothly. Not very surprising. What was surprising was that I messed up the easiest install of all; the rear spoiler.
Honestly, it looked alright until I saw macro shots of it. It's definitely sitting tad to the right & back. I'll likely attempt it, but I don't even know if I could manage to repair something like that. Got slight glue reside toward the back-right as well. Hard to see any of it with naked eye.
If you plan on installing these parts, my advice: Make sure you are up for the challenge. Allow yourself some time, so you don't rush it.

I originally assumed that those two dots on the hood/bonnet were the holes where you install the bug guard? They were actually printed dots. I think they represent the windshield washer nozzles.
Slanted rear spoiler. *tear*
Please Tomica. No more plastic models. Just stahp.
