You could say that this is one of the catalyst responsible for the popularity of JDM amongst the hot wheel collectors today. From mainlines to Double-Auto BRE releases, Bluebird/510s can be hard to find, to downright impossible to spot. In real life, I have to admit, this is one of those designs that I fell in love with immediately. I can't say that I'm shocked at its popularity, especially with the remarkable casting design by Mattel's Jun Imai.
If my memory serve, I think they sold for around $3~$3.50 in stores? I paid just below $9 shipped online. Soon, the price was up to $50, then $100. As of today, according to eBay "sold" item search, they are selling for around $140 or more, if still carded. I opened mine when I realized that I'm never selling mine anyway. :D
My one is staying in it's plastic prison, forever! :p
