Just for fun - Hakosuka Battle? F-Toys vs. Taccar vs. M2

I love side-by-side comparisons.  A side-by-side-by-side?  Even better.

Start from the left:  F-Toys, Taccar/Targa, then M2.  Three Hakosuka castings, but two virtual unknown brands from Japan & one brand rarely seen outside the U.S.  :D

F-Toys is known for plastic body, but I think it's blowing away the competition on the front-end....  Looks really good.

I'm pretty sure you have to install the side mirrors yourself on the F-Toys, so M2 gets some points here for preinstalled mirrors.

Detailing under the hood on the F-Toys & Taccar's unbelievable.  M2.....  lol

I pride myself on collecting little bit of everything 1/64, but I don't own any Targa/Taccar yet.  One of these days!

A Horror Show: F-Toys 日本名車倶楽部(Japanese Classic Car Selection)

Old old old old photos I ran into today:

With the line-up featuring Hakosuka Skyline, Toyota 2000GT & Isuzu Bellett, I had to give this one a shot.  They come in blind boxes, which means you don't know which model's inside the box.  Like with some Kyoshos.  That white thing in the bag is a chewing gum.

Best thing to do on this for me was to buy the whole case from Amiami.  This way, you do get ten models, but at least one of each.  This cost roughly $59(shipped).  Not bad.

While the stock photos online looked wonderful, actual cars were..... very rough looking.  I have to retract my statement on GreenLight having the worst quality control, because even they don't touch the F-Toys.  lmao

F-Toys cars feature plastic bodies.  Not diecast.

You know what's scary?  Even with horrid detailing & quality, I think their wheels look better than some TLVs put on theirs at much higher MSRP.

F-Toys Japanese Classic Car Selection Vol. 2: 1990 Honda NSX

f-toys nsx

Perhaps my expectation was bit high.  In the stock photos, plastic moulding looked impressive...... and it still is.  It's just that body color is dirt cheap looking + the fit & finish is about what you'd expect from a cheap plastic model.  You get what you pay for.  I just wish I didn't buy the whole damn case of these things.  *tear*

I super-glued the mirrors on.  When I tried doing this with the white Isuzu Bellett from the Volume One of the series(very car that's always parked inside the Shell station garage),  I lost the mirrors when they went flying out of my finger tips.  NSX mirrors was the same way.  I swore more than once.  Very frustrating...... they do look good though.  Nicely painted too, at least the mirrors.

In my opinion, NSX is one of the best looking cars to come out of Japan.  Somebody like TLV need to do this car & do it right.  I will give F-Toys that they got the body shape right, which can't be easy.  NSX looks as good today as it did in 1990.  Fantastic.
