Gulliver64 Tokyo Musen(Radio)/ガリバー64 東京無線 Crown Comfort Taxi Cab ガリバー64

I believe this is my fourth Toyota Crown "Comfort" taxi by Gulliver64(link to 3 others).  Having grown up in Japan, it's safe to say that I have a soft spot for Japanese taxis.  In the U.S., cabs have some unflattering stigmas associated with them.  In Japan, I remember them being clean, and automatic door that welcome you in.  Very cool.

Anywho, while I already have three of these things, I also wanted this green/yellow finish one belonging to Tokyo Musen(radio).  I grew up seeing these colorful cabs around.  Love them.

Amiami was no longer able to get them, but I was able to score this one late, thanks to a tip by fellow collector Andy.  I think it came to $20, shipped(eBay)/

Gulliver64 Hanshin Taxi Tigers Cab Crown Sedan 阪神タイガースキャブ クラウンセダン

Before you say that this is the ugliest taxi cab you've ever seen, let me explain:  

1. It's a real life cab featuring Hanshin Tigers livery.
2. Hanshin Tigers is a Japanese baseball team from Osaka.  My childhood favorite team.

God bless amiami.  They've had this car on backorder for sometime.  While I balked on it for probably something like a year(see what I did there? lol), I was finally able to add it on my November order.  Since I reside in the U.S., I can't get myself to fork over $100 or whatever for the expensive Tigers baseball cap, which would just make the locals here go "WTF?" at me anyway, I am kinda pleased to own something with the logo from the team, especially in the form of collectible I'm big into.  I get it, cool story bro.  Pics:

Gulliver64 Japanese Taxis: Green Cab & Keikyu Transit Toyota Crown Comfort Sedan

Yes, Crown again.  Yes, the "comfort" in the title reeks of Engrish, or Japanglish.  Not only that, outside Tomica or Kyosho, do we ever even see a Toyota Crown diecast, or minicar?  Can you imagine Mr. JDM Jun Imai at Hot Wheels going "challenge accepted!"???  Well, not yet at least.

I picked up these things on AmiAmi for about $15, each.  I wish I was made out of money, because I could use couple more of these neat little, but very detailed taxis made by Gulliver(especially my Hanshin Tigers vers.).  A brand I have zero knowledge on.

One thing I do know about them, they are ANAL about the small details.  If you've ridden on a Japanese taxi, looking at all the little decals/tampos damn near give you nostalgia.

I'm impressed.  Every time I run into 1/64 with insane detailing, it puts a grin on my face.  :)
