Hot Wheels Redliners '55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser

If you collect Hot Wheels in America, you know.  Certain castings are hard to find.  I'm not even talking about Treasure Hunts, or $THs.  Certain VWs like T1 Bus, Drag Bus, or certain Skylines, Bluebirds are so popular, they become a magnet for hoarder & scalpers on top of the everyday collectors.  '55 Chevy Gasser is one of those castings.  

Now, you put real riders on one of these things & difficulty level of finding the Gasser multiplies by a hundred(I wish I was kidding lol).  Thanks to Duane, another collector I know on Twitter, I was able to score one after all.  Thank you so much for your help on this, Duane.  :D

"Developing 'That one vehicle' you can not leave out when discussing rotary engine, or Japanese race cars."  Rough translation, but you get the idea.

While they blurred it pretty effectively with mosaic, that's a 787B amirite.  What's a famous Japanese race car with rotary engine?  I know next to nothing about racing, but it's gotta be.... The lone Japanese car ever to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans - Mazda 787B.

Well, we were right!  TLV Mazda 787B is coming in September!

Unfortunately, like every TLVs lately, it cost even more than expected.  $80(or 8,000 yen).  I preordered mine from amiami for roughly $60.  It's crazy, but I expect this to sell out soon after its release.  Maybe even before that, during the preorder phase.  Anyway, if you plan on getting it, don't wait too long.

P.S.  Tomytec page linked above says that this is the first of the three models to be released.  They didn't spell out that they are releasing all three, but that sure seems to be their plan.  I can't wait to do a side-by-side feature of this guy with the AUTOart & Kyosho when the time comes!

Hot Wheels HWC/RLC 2009 Holiday Car - '55 Chevy(Panel) feat. Snowmobile

Earlier this week, I totally missed out on this:

First of all, I didn't even know that they were working on a GMC Panel w/opening hatch & payload in the back!  For this feature alone, I've been a fan of the Chevy Panel & not the GMC counterpart.  This holiday version GMC of course comes with the snowmobile instead of the bike.  Appropriate for the Christmas season.  While I initially missed out on the GMC w/snowmobile, not to worry, because it has motivated me to finally open my holiday edition Chevy Panel with its snowmobile.  :D
