Tomica Limited Vintage NEO LV-N124c Honda Ballade Sports CR-X 1.5i Option Equipped Vehicle(WTF does that mean) '83

tlv crx blue

Roughly $17 before shipping for this car.  Is it worth it?  I'm really starting to question it.  MSRP of $24.  Come on, Tomytec.  At least you should have to glue the stupid spoiler on.  ;)

Hot Wheels Chara Wheel "Lupin the Third" Set - Citroen 2 CV, Hambersupersnipe & Fiat 500

This is my third Hot Wheels Chara Wheel.  My first was this, and my second one was this.  They must've been exclusive to Japanese market, and according to the packaging, made by Bandai.  A giant in the Japanese toy industry.  Going by that, and how most of these "chara wheels" being featured are from Japanese animes & superhero shows, I'm not exactly sure how much Mattel/Hot Wheels actually have to do with these cars, other than featuring their logo on the cards.  I'm guessing that these are totally unfamiliar castings to Mattel fans.  For what it's worth, these Chara Wheels seems to be way better quality than say Retro Entertainment we get these days from Mattel.

Hot Wheels Chara Wheel "Lupin the Third" Set - Citroen 2 CV, Hambersupersnipe & Fiat 500

I've been wanting this set for probably something like couple years now.  I can be impulsive, but depending on models, I can be patient.  In this particular case, I took advice of fellow collector Cano(from Custom Diecast Mexico) & waited for a deal.....

By my observation, this set generally goes for $60-something to $100 for the set.  This set is supposed to come all together in the blister pack, kind of like how I laid it out in the pic above.  I got mine on three separate eBay auctions.  From same seller.  lol

I find the Fiat first on eBay, won that one for roughly $20(shipped).  I was happy.  Been wanting a set, but I didn't want to pay $70, $80, and Fiat was the only must-have in the set anyway.

Maybe another week or so later, I see the other two in auction.  $10.99 a piece, I believe.

So while I wasn't able to get all three blister packed together, the whole set cost me just $42(shipped).  I'm very happy how it turned out.  :D  Pics:

Tomica also did this one.  Although they didn't feature Lupin in the driver's seat, they added their own nice touch to their Fiat.

In the typical GreenLight fashion, details look really rough.  Pretty sure that windshield on this brand new release is actually 30 years old.  Yikes.

In my local store, they would have sold this for $7.  No, thank you.  I paid $4 + combined shipping & it's barely worth that.

Kyosho Fiat-Lancia Minicar Collection Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione II versus Tomica Limited Vintage & CM's

Kyosho Fiat-Lancia Minicar Collection Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione II

"What are you doing Minicar Pics 1/64?  We've been here before, and fairly recently!!"

Well, you'd be right..... EXCEPT WE HAVE NEW CHALLENGER!!!  Recently shared in a post by Apok on GTPlanet, it's a Kyosho.

On the right in the rally livery of course is CM's.  On the left, red with rear spoiler is the Kyosho.

Ohhh... It's the red TLV Delta & another CM's!

Okay, now the big three.  For me, easy ways to tell difference:

TLV - Black rims(in the center)
Kyosho - Rear wing(on the right)
CM's - Antenna hole on the roof(on the left)

Apok: "As far as Kyoshos go it's not too bad. The wheels look good and the front has pretty good details. Comparing it to TLV or CM's is a waste of time though as those are noticeably better. This does appear to be a different variant to those two (note the rather large wing), so that's nice."

Apok has told me that he prefers the CM's version, and I do also(pictured).

Special thanks to Apok for these interesting comparison shots.  Please check out his brand spanking new blog.
