I've always liked the Twin Mill casting & its variants. Sort of unusual, since I'm not a fan of fantasy castings, at least not for collecting(I do like racing them with my nephews). I do have few Twin Mills, but Red Baron, now, here's a classic hot wheels casting that has eluded me for sometime.... but as you can see, this "100%" version Red Baron isn't the same casting from the olden Redline series. It's a much fancier looking design, and that's actually why I pulled the trigger on one this time. Plus, I had never seen Twin Mill with opening cockpit before. Groovy dude!
Nice set. Don't hit me, but I threw the display case away. Kinda neat, but takes too much room. This set isn't worth all that much anyway. I paid $15.98 on TTP(shipped).
Rad amirite.
Hot Wheels with vintage flavor!
I'm not a fan of fantasy or concept cars either, but for some reason I've always liked the Twin Mill, Red Baron, Deora, and even though it's based on a real car and technically not a fantasy car, but not a real production vehicle either, the Vairy 8. I actually have two of these Twin Mills, one in the set with the Red Baron and the other a loose car that I picked up on eBay. I bought the two car set on eBay also, but even though the display box is really beat, I can't bring myself to remove the cars and throw it away. Other than those and many other Twin Mills, two Repo Duty tow trucks, a 60s Batmobile, K.I.T.T, and a DeLorean time machine, the rest of my collection is all real production vehicles.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm focused on production veheicles, also. Lot of JDM cars, muscle cars, and also partial to utility/working vehicles. I'm glad you were able to score this set. Great value & good looking set.
