NOT 1/64 Hot Wheels Collectibles - 1968 Ferrari 365 GTB / 4

Hot Wheels Collectibles 1968 Ferrari 365 GTB 4 1/43

Dirty & beat up packaging, not 1/64 scale, but I couldn't resist.  Hot Wheels Collectibles 1/43 Ferrari.  It's from 1998.  It's interesting & it's FERRARI.  *drool*

  1. That's a nice Ferrari indeed.
I've found a Batman car from the classic series. My excuse to buy it was a mismatched green wheel on one of them. I doubt there's a bonus on it but I have left it in the original packaging until I'll just open it for my car loving son.
80 toy cars (only counted the 1/64 ones in Corona times) are not enough ;)

    1. I never got into errors, but there are collectors who dig them. I do suggest keeping the car in the blister as long as possible, because I think it loses it's "value" once you uncard it. Very glad to hear you & your son enjoying the hot wheels. Might consider investing in a track set. While not motorized or anything, me & the nephews had some spirited competition with stunts & races. Stay safe! :)

    2. Guess what, we just opened it ;)
I was curious about the wheel, is it green on both sides or not?
And yes, both rear wheels have a green rim. Looking much better than the standard version.
So no, I'm not a real collector. Right now I always check the Penny Press machines to see if I find a nice motif that's good for imrints to make hey hangers from it. Do I need them? Of course not but it's fun to make them :)
I also have the idea to get a model car of each car I owned.
It's not so many but they are not attractive for model cars, maybe you find something?
      1) Mazda 323 (GLC, Familia) around 1990, red https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Mazda_323_rear_20080226.jpg
      2) Nissan Almera first generation in this beautiful color:

I even had some fugly stickers on the sides, maybe served me well that someone crashed into the right butt of it :P
      3) not getting better, Nissan Micra (2000 or so)

This one was so cheap in every aspect and just didn't want to go that I had to give it to my sister and get a real car
      4) Mazda MX-5 (2007) grey, black roof
      5) and of course now the Mazda Atenza, still looking for a good price, these model care really don't come cheap if you're looking for a specific car

  2. You play around with a penny press? Like the kind you press pennies with & turn them into commemorative souvenirs? Very cool.

Building a diecast collection of all cars one actually owned in real life would be difficult for most. Most of us have owned enough boring cars which will never be produced in any scale diecast. I really like the look of the Nissan Micra though. I'm sorry to hear that it was cheaply made. 2007 MX-5, I actually posted one like that on here in silver. It was also by Oversteer, and it's under Miata: http://minicarpics.blogspot.com/2015/06/oversteer-mazda-roadster-rs.html

  3. So right about the boring cars, at least the Roadster and the Atenza are cars that I like :P
I'd need the MX-5 in grey though. I even found someone to make me a Made in Hiroshima car sign, I'm just not sure if I want to pay $68 for it, +$20 for shipping.

And yeah, I collect the pressed pennies, make stamps from it, press it into leather and turn them into key hangers.
Sometimes as gifts but mainly for myself ;)

    1. That's very cool stuff, man. Very cleanly done. Great job!

And what's this Made in Hiroshima sign? Would it be standalone sign for $68, or is it something that would come with the diecast Mazda car?

    2. Thank you. And well, I want a custom logo to put on my car, looking like an original car emblem.
At first I wanted to remove the Mazda6 logo and put there the Made in 'Hiroshima' with a trefoil (radioactive sign) as the 'O'
My son likes the name though so I might remove the Skyactive emblem and put a similarly cnc milled one there. The 'O' should be an atom logo like in the "atomic era".
Not sure about it yet, I have to write to the maker again. And think about it if I want to spend the money on a logo or on other things I don't need ;)

    3. Oh man, without ever realizing it, I think I'm a purist when it comes to badges & emblems. If it's Honda vs Acura swap or something like that, I think I could overlook it, but I know I want to see the factory emblems on respective cars. Sorry. I'm not onboard! lol

    4. That's ok and that's why I'd want it to look original.
Anyways, I'm checking pressed pennies atm and there's some very nice design so I think I'll waste my $ on that so I cam make more dust collectors.
Maybe an Atenza will find its way to me, too ;)

    5. One of those Oversteer models would be a cool & unique addition to any diecast collection. I wish you luck!
