I don't really buy any hot wheels, or minicars anymore, but I still check the pegs when I'm in stores & today, I thought this was pretty cool:
American Seibu Keisatsu van amirite. Instead of another retread, new parts & details. Love the open sliding side door! **Door doesn't actually slide
Online, I thought this was really crappy "mud" finish? It only clicked when I held it in my hand(not into comic books): Ghost Rider rides has flaming tires!
At first glance, I thought these were nicely detailed Coke cars by M2..... then saw the price tag. OMG, man. Not saying $9 isn't a fair price for M2 cars, but personally, I hate that kind of price hike(these are normally $6, $7 tops). :(
Just curious, when you say you don't buy minicars anymore, you mean are out of the hobby for good?
ReplyDeleteI am working towards that, hopefully by the end of the year. Sold off $3,000+ worth of cars on eBay in last 2, 3 months, but I have ways to go(eBay link available on "For Sale" tab up above).
DeleteThanks for reading!
Oh hey, that is sad to know. May I ask why?
DeleteI am quite late to the TLV party, in fact I only started collecting earlier this year. I visit your blog for certain tlv model reviews.
I do have a few 1/18s and a multitude of 1/43s, and sometimes I do think about when the time to stop is.
This is a interesting topic, and I've been meaning to do a post about it sometime. For me, bottom line, I'm just not into it anymore, but I'd like to share "why" I wasn't into it much anymore in the upcoming post.
DeleteTLV is great, but I am a bigger fan of their cars from few years ago(closer to 2010). Unfortunately, those older models are rarer & pricier from the secondary market(mainly eBay) as expected. New release TLVs are still interesting, but for me personally, I don't see anything I have to have anymore, although I did commit to preorder on upcoming RX-7's. Apparently, I'm still not completely cured. lol
