  1. Dude, that pair is amazing! In all due seriousness, the quality of those two JL models is great for such simple model concepts; the "Vocho" (that would be the Mexican nickname for the Beetle)oozes personality, but the 300 takes the cake and eats it by far. It's even better than the "300 livery" version that you've posted here before, I dare say, because the Panamericana livery suits it like a glove... Plus, that engine bay is simply flawless.

Also, is that black Beetle-shaped piece in the Beetle set a cover for the car itself?

  2. I totally agree. That 300 isn't just neat, it's superbly detailed as well. Great job by JL.

    1. Firstly, tt seems that you missed a question that I asked at the end of my post; what is that black part that comes with the Bettle in the blister? Is it a car cover?

Secondly, I can definitely agree; the 300 seems to be JL's best casting, or one of the best at least. I don't what the price is for the car, but I can safely say that it would give a Hot Wheels car a run and half for its money...

    2. Sorry, I did miss your question. Yes, it is car cover.

300 is one underrated casting, and I got both of mine really cheap. You should try watching for one on eBay.

    3. It is alright, thanks for clarifying my doubts. That only makes the Beetle casting even better, because you get an extra part to make it more unique.

Thanks for the tip, although it may take a while before I can actually learn how to use eBay properly to buy scale models... or anything else, for that matter.

    4. eBay is awesome. It's a great place to spend big money to get something so rare you couldn't find one elsewhere.... or in a case like this, it's also a great place to score items that fly under most collectors' radar, for cheap!

    5. Well, that much I know, haha. I've seen plenty of special cars being sold on eBay for either ridiculously high prices or the cheapest prices in history, and eBay also hosts great shops where you can get many cars in brand new shape. For example, we have Japan Booster, which sells many great Tomica Limited Vintage and Kyosho 1:64 cars...

The only real problem for me is finding a good way to use eBay without being caught in your usual beginner's traps. And no one else in my family has used such a service either, so you can understand the stigma that still lingers around...

  3. I think the biggest hurdle when getting started on eBay is setting up an PayPal account. Once you get that out of the way, it's pretty easy.

    1. Well, that just may be the exact same hurdle that's preventing me from jumping on the eBay bandwagon... PayPal is not something I'm familiar with, not in the slightest.

    2. Learning curve definitely exist with PayPal. I'm sure it's different depending on the country you live in, too.

    3. Precisely, couldn't have said it better. Then there are the additional shipping and other taxes that are inflicted upon eBay items which come from overseas...

    4. True, customs/duty also depends on the country. Most countries clear most smaller items though.

    5. Well, that may be true, but again, my lack of PayPal and importing experience prevents me from being 95% sure of that...

    6. This is where it's handy for me, living in the U.S. Most items I order ships from within the U.S., and shipping from Japan is super cheap(expensive from the U.S.). Go figure!

    7. Indeed, it's easier when the packages you import only need to cross one ocean... In the U.S., the only thing needed is one quick airplane journey from Japan and presto, delivery reaches the country and only requires mail service to be delivered to your doorstep!
