Oops! I did it again, not 1/64: AUTOart 1/18 1991 Le Mans Winner Mazda 787B

I stick with 1/64 scale diecasts, but once in a great while, something that comes along that I have to have, and generally, scale would be 1/18.

With this purchase, it had some influence by way of national pride.  To date, it's the only Japanese car ever to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans.  Initially, livery didn't do it for me at all.  Last decade or more, it's been one of my favorites.  Also doesn't hurt that it happens to be one of the best screamers around.  Very distinctive, and uber exciting sound.  Pics:

Damaged mirror on the right side.  Not impressed with AUTOart quality control right now.  I also had their Ford GT missing a shifter last year.  :(

1/64 is a Kyosho.  Beautiful side by side...

I don't think I've done 1/64-1/18 combo shot since this Lotus Honda 99T?  Very glad to be able to pair these two up.  Both models are very well made.  :)

    1. Thank you Jarrod! Waited three months for this one. Much delay with the preorder.

  2. Personally, it is difficult to be bothered by the damaged side mirror because LOOK AT THAT TROPHY!!!

Apologies for the caps, but I had to say it; if that comes with the car, then that only makes the car even more incredible. Their quality control may be going through a bad phase, but AutoART still makes amazing-looking cars... It's as big as its pricetag, but it's worth the price of admission.

    1. Trophy's okay. I do wish they did the mirror right. Whoever installed it knew he/she wrinkled it up, but didn't bother fixing it on a $200+ model, and that's disappointing.

Model overall is great, I agree.

    2. Still, it's a very nice detail, one which you don't find often. So, while it may not be a Louvre-worthy piece, it is a very pretty extra for me... As for the mirror, I can see why that would be frustrating for you, considering how great the rest of the casting looks. In a car like this, you can't help but to admire all details, even the small(er) ones. With that pricetag, you do tend to expect a little more care being put into the car...
